How To Celebrate Your First Eid Mubarak With Friends & Family
Whether you’ve married into a Muslim family, converted to the religion, or just want to show solidarity with neighbours and colleagues doesn’t matter. The Eid Mubarak festival is a special time of the year and one where your involvement can bring a lot of joy.
This quick guide will show you how to celebrate the festival with friends and family for the first time, including how to find the perfect gift.
Step One: Know When To Celebrate Eid
Eid Mubarak signals the end of Ramadan. In 2022, the celebration begins on May 1st and is celebrated until the evening of May 2nd. The celebration is actually called Eid al-Fitr but “Eid Mubarak” is the common greeting, which is usually met with the reply of “Khair Mubarak”.
So, if you are planning to celebrate the festival this year either as a Muslim or with the Islamic followers in your life, there is still time to find a gift and think about ways to join the celebrations.
Step Two: Find The Perfect Gift
Finding a gift may seem a daunting challenge, especially if you’ve never previously celebrated the event with loved ones. Gift boxes can include chocolates, sweets, and other tasty treats. Or if you think the recipient is sorted for those things, a gift delivery that includes an at-home spa night set to be used after the celebrations (perhaps on the Tuesday) can be ideal.
There are plenty of additional gift ideas for loved ones, including home decor. This could be something generic like plants or an item with a religious twist. If you want to treat children, toys are the perfect solution.
Step Three: Consider Party Decor
If you are attending an Eid Mubarak party, you can also offer to help with party planning. You can find decor and accessories for a range of different themes like Persian, black, white and silver, or botanical. However, you will want to check that the party planner wants this help. They may already have all the necessary products or prefer not to have their theme compromised.
Other items include garden products like starburst LED lights. These items may add an extra ingredient of excitement and fun. In many cases, though, the best option is to simply ask whether the host wants any help with putting the decorations up or preparing the space for the party. This is especially true when the part is in a hired hall.
Step Four: Enjoy It
There are possibly other ways to get involved with the preparations, such as cooking food for the celebration. In truth, though, this probably won’t be needed. Although once again, small candies and treats will probably be well received. Any party you attend is likely to take place after the crucial morning prayers, so simply saying the Eid Mubarak greeting should suffice for non-muslim participants.
While this is a celebration of Ramadan’s finish, it is also a time to celebrate being with friends and family. As such, the best thing you can do is actively enjoy the festivities. Happy Eid.
