Welcome to the World! Celebrating a New Baby
A new baby is always something to celebrate. Welcoming a new bundle of joy into the world isn’t necessarily something that you get to do that often, so it’s special when you get to celebrate an arrival. It might be your own baby, but often you’re celebrating a grandchild, niece or nephew, or a friend’s baby. Whoever the new baby is to you, getting a gift for the newborn and/or the parents is always a kind gesture. You can go the route of buying practical gifts – after all, new parents can never have enough nappies and babygrows – or you can get something a little more sentimental.
Gifts for new babies
During baby’s first year, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to celebrate them. There’s often a christening, naming ceremony, or equivalent, as well as various holidays or special occasions during the year. And it will all build up to their big one-year-old milestone, by which time they might be both walking and talking.
Personalised gifts are a great choice for welcoming a baby or for other special occasions. Our ceramic money boxes can be personalised with names and have a choice of cute animals, from lions to elephants and zebras. They could be the perfect way to save up some money during the baby’s first year and buy them something special on their first birthday. We have a range of other gifts perfect for new babies too, including rattles, cuddly toys, wall art, and cute keepsakes for parents.
Practical gifts
Of course, it’s also helpful to offer practical gifts to new parents. Babies don’t typically need a lot of stuff at the beginning. But what they do need, they usually need a lot of. Items like clothes, nappies and wipes, bottles and other feeding supplies are all needed in multiples. And as the baby grows, more of these things are needed in different sizes. The best way to buy anything practical is to speak to the parents about what they need. It’s likely they want the basics, such as plain babygrows in different sizes rather than fancy clothes that might only be worn once.
Celebrating parents
Don’t forget about the parents when welcoming a new baby to the world. They can definitely appreciate some gifts or anything that helps to make things easier for them as new parents. For example, it’s useful if you can help them out with food or cleaning, or anything else they might need when they’re trying to get into a new routine. You could send them meals or pay for a laundry service to help them out.
You’ll have plenty of chances to celebrate a new baby during their first year. And when their first birthday arrives, it’s a great excuse to make a big fuss and do something really special. There are all kinds of gifts you can buy for both baby and parents, or you might even get involved with planning a first birthday party when the big day arrives.
