5 Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas for Your Home
Decorate your Christmas tree in a way that makes it easy for you to enjoy it every year.
Start with an Empty Tree.
If you’re going to buy a new tree each year, start with one that’s empty. This will make it easier to fill out the branches as you go along. Think about where you are wanting to place your tree, and choose a tree and colour scheme based on your room decor. Also, think about the textures you are wanting to use when decorating your tree, maybe you could find some beads that match a lampshade, or an ornament with the same texture as a cushion.
Add Lights.
You can use lights to add some extra sparkle to your tree. They also help keep the tree looking fresh throughout the holiday season. Take a look at The Range, if you have a store close by, pop by at the weekend and check out their display, otherwise, they have a wide range of lights to view and purchase online.
Hang ornaments.
Ornaments are an easy way to make your tree stand out. Choose ones with bright colours and patterns. If you prefer a more traditional look, choose ornaments with simple designs. If you are after a more personalised touch, check out our collection of personalised Christmas decorations, whether it be a gift or for your own tree, we have many to choose from.
Add Wreaths.
You can also add wreaths to your tree. They are inexpensive and easy to find at any craft store. Simply wrap them around the trunk of your tree and secure them with tape or glue. You can also add a wreath to your front door, check out Philippa Craddock’s tutorial for making a festive wreath from House & Garden.
Add Candles.
Although we wouldn’t recommend adding candles directly to your Christmas Tree, adding Christmas-scented candles around your home brings a great Christmassy feeling to your home when a loved one walks through the door, or if you are curled up on the sofa movie-watching.
To conclude, however you choose to decorate your tree, whether you follow tips or go with the flow. Remember it is your tree, and your ideas are what count!
